Heading into the final round with a three-stroke lead over her closest competitor, Min-G Kim, Sharp wasted no time in asserting her dominance. She made an impressive start, carding five birdies in the first seven holes, extending her lead to a commanding five strokes. With unwavering focus, she maintained her position throughout the round, ultimately finishing with a score of 69, securing a five-stroke victory over amateur golfer Laren Zaretsky.
Reflecting on her outstanding achievement, Alena Sharp acknowledged the impact of her recent coaching and her improved form this year. Sitting comfortably within the top-10 of the Epson Tour's Player Rankings, Sharp attributed her success to a combination of factors, including a solid warm-up and her triumph just one month earlier on the Epson Tour later expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to compete at Kingsville Golf & Country Club once again.
With her remarkable win, Sharp has cemented her name in the annals of the ORORO PGA Women's Championship of Canada. Her victory marks her fourth title in the prestigious event, positioning her as the second-most successful player in its history. She now joins the esteemed Lorie Kane, the tournament's namesake, who has triumphed five times.
Sharp's triumph at the ORORO PGA Women's Championship of Canada opened doors to further opportunities. Her exceptional performance earned her an exemption into the LPGA Tour's CPKC Women's Open, scheduled for August 24-27 in Vancouver.
